Lamoille Women's Club Community Project- The Yellow Dot Program

One of our major ongoing projects is the Yellow Dot program.  Chosen by the club as a project in 2012, the ladies of the LWC quickly became the go-to experts for the program in Nevada when it became  necessary to be instituted in Clark County, it was Past-President Martha Wallace who was tapped to help implement the plan.

The program is very simple, although the details may vary from state to state.  Essentially, you receive a packet that includes a yellow dot sticker and an informational flyer.  The flyer is meant to be filled out by the owner of the vehicle, which includes all important identity and health information.  The flyer is then put into the users glovebox and the sticker affixed to the rear window of the vehicle.

These are very important in the event of a major emergency, and can also be utilized on the homes of participants.  Being able to asses someone based on their medical history is incredibly important, and the information being readily available when First Responders arrive at the scene of an incident can be the difference between life and death.

You can find the head of the Yellow Dot Committee, Martha Wallace, at many major events in Elko-including Cops & Burgers and National Night Out.  If you would like to have Martha come to speak for your group or organization, please feel free to contact her at (775) 340-6922.  You can also request copies of the Yellow Dot packets by reaching out to her or filling in the form below!
