37th Annual Lamoille Country Fair Quilt Unveiled

The unveiling of the Lamoille Country Fair Quilt is eagerly anticipated each year.  Each Lamoille Country Fair Quilt is unique, handcrafted, and prized for its beauty and craftmanship.  This year's Fair Quilt is no exception.

This year's Fair Quilt is entitled "Ruby Mountain Hideaway," and the quilt was sewn by LWC member Joyce Kay and quilted by Susan Thompson of Quilt Mania.  The colors are vibrant, and the design reflects the picturesque landscapes in our area.  The quilt is 98" x 112" and fits either queen or king-sized beds beautifully.

The Fair Quilt will be raffled off at the conclusion of the Lamoille Country Fair to be held in Lamoille Grove, Lamoille, Nevada on June 24th.  Raffle tickets can be purchased from LWC members or at the Lamoille Woman's Club booth at the Home Show being held at the Elko Convention Center on May 12th and 13th - Mother's Day weekend.  The winning ticket would make a wonderful Mother's Day present!  Raffle tickets are $1.00 each or 6 tickets for $5.00.

For information on the Lamoille Country Fair or raffle tickets for the Fair Quilt, please contact Martha Wallace at 775-385-3502 or Elisabeth Moore at 775-778-0514.

What is the GFWC Lamoille Woman's Club (LWC)?

The Lamoille Woman's Club is a woman's organization, located in Lamoille, Nevada at the base of the beautiful Ruby Mountains, that welcomes any member who lives in Elko County. The Club meets the first Wednesday of every month from September through June. Exceptions are the months of January and September when meetings are held on the second Wednesday. Socials, committee meetings supporting services in need, and weekly sewing gatherings are also held in their clubhouse at 795 Clubhouse Lane.

The GFWC Lamoille Woman's Club is a non-profit organization that raises funds to support their clubhouse in Lamoille; to provide assistance to BrightPath Adult Enrichment Center, Friends in Service Helping (FISH), the Ruby Mountain Resource Center, and Elko's Harbor House; to award scholarships to Spring Creek and Elko High School seniors as well as Great Basin College students; to purchase pediatric emergency kits for the local ambulances; and several other endeavors. The Club has ongoing community service projects that all members support.

In order to raise funds, the GFWC Lamoille Woman's Club holds the Annual Lamoille Country Fair on the last Sunday in June each year, a 2-day Fall Craft Festival in mid-November, a local Spaghetti Feed, and this year a Spring "Hot Bowls" event.  They also participate in the Lamoille Harvest Festival in October holding a Bake Sale and Raffle.
